Toongabbie Station Access Upgrade

The Transport Access Program (TAP) upgrades provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure. The upgrades to Toongabbie Station improve the access of the station for all sections of the community including people with a disability, carers with prams, older persons, children, students and commuters.

Upgrades include new lifts, concourse bridges, as well as new ambulant and family bathroom facilities and upgraded kiss and ride zone and CCTV security.

DesignInc’s design solution is site specific, providing aesthetic and placemaking responses that carefully integrate existing structures and materials. The existing ramps beloved by the community at Toongabbie Station were retained instead of being replaced by stairs as per the original concept design, and the new lift architecture with rounded ends, provides a new landmark seen for the town centre.
