Deakin University Medical School
DesignInc’s consolidation of a 1970s science building yielded space for this new research-friendly education environment. A new façade and circulation encapsulates the retained structure, while leading-edge infrastructure includes a pulse technology air distribution system, which utilised existing ducts and reduces energy costs. Removal of hazardous material within the occupied building required an intricate decant staging and circulation strategy. Now a landmark within this maturing campus, the building won several awards on completion.
