I enjoy the technical challenges associated with delivering large complex projects that need to balance performance, functionality, and budget to achieve flexible and enduring project outcomes.
Doug is a registered architect, Senior Associate and Studio Leader at DesignInc Darwin. He relocated with his family to the Northern Territory at the start of 2024 to lead DesignInc’s new Darwin studio following 14 years at DesignInc Adelaide.
Doug enjoys exploring solutions to the complex technical challenges that come with large-scale projects. Doug’s varied project experiences include entire base redevelopments, industrial facilities, workshops, hangars, secure working accommodations, and training facilities. He has an in-depth understanding of defence standards, policies, and procedures and values the importance of clear and timely communication.
Doug works on projects in all phases and embraces the diverse challenges they face, from the big-picture constraints and opportunities in the master planning phases to the fine-grained technical requirements of the construction phase.

DesignInc has expanded into the Northern Territory, establishing a studio in Darwin. With expertise across sectors including defence, health, education, community, workplace, residential, transport, aviation, and urban design, DesignInc will now combine its national experience with established local knowledge, having completed numerous projects across the Northern Territory over the last decade.
