Reservoir Primary School’s Transformation Unveiled: A Fusion of Heritage and Innovation
DesignInc’s visionary master plan brings new life to Reservoir Primary School, featuring a state-of-the-art STEAM wing, a dynamic music pavilion, and campus makeover.
Innovative architecture and outdoor spaces interlink with heritage buildings, arranged to create a vibrant school heart.
DesignInc has collaborated with educators at Reservoir Primary School to lead a transformative journey, unveiling a comprehensive master plan that breathes new life into the century-old campus.
A new street presence is created, with the existing building representing the history of the school while the two new buildings are ‘bookends’ representing the present and future of the school.
The restoration project breathes fresh vitality into the original 1920s school building, morphing it into a modern administration hub. Inside, reimagined and renovated learning spaces offer a diverse range of direct and indirect learning environments, fostering creativity and engagement.
The interiors unveil a harmonious blend of soft, curvilinear architectural elements, punctuated by rounded apertures, fostering a fluid spatial experience that effortlessly intertwines with the natural environment. Our design intention is to promote a sense of ease and seamless connection with nature.
Moreover, this emphasis on openness and connectivity facilitates passive surveillance, ensuring student and staff security. It also promotes calm, fostering an environment for positive interactions and collective wellbeing.
With striking architectural forms, the campus becomes a vibrant hub of learning, fostering innovation and community engagement.

The new music pavilion, designed to house both the music and OSHC programs, adds to the school’s appeal. Positioned at the school entrance, this pavilion seamlessly connects with the Stage 1 gymnasium, becoming an inviting community hub out of school hours for a variety of functions.
Two new community entries, including a family entrance with direct access to the school campus and a community entrance with access to reception and OSCH, create a welcoming sense of arrival.
Central to the school’s transformation is the new STEAM building, where innovation and engagement are evident in every space. This two-story facility, linked to the main structure, presents modern teaching spaces for science, art, and food technology. Paired with a dynamic library space and additional learning areas, it promises to ignite a passion for learning in every student.
