Rachel Soebekti has been awarded The University of Melbourne’s DesignInc Positive Legacy of Design Award for 2024.
The event night was held on 2 May 2024, Rachel was awarded for the best design from any discipline that shows potential for ecological and social benefit. Rachel shared her comments and gratitude with us:
‘I’d like to express a warm thank you to the DesignInc Team.
My project sought to challenge the accountability of architects and architecture to the everyday person and its recognition through the Positive Legacy for Design award represents to me broader advocacy for the social value of our built environment.’
I am excited to be embarking on a career in which these important perspectives are celebrated with enthusiasm within the wider industry. I am very grateful for this support and recognition.

On 1 June 2023, Crystal was included on the Dean’s Honours List for her Year 3 Undergraduate Bachelor of Design at The University of Melbourne.
Glenroy Library has been awarded a commendation in the 2024 Library Design Awards by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). This recognition is a testament to the innovative design and community-centric approach of Glenroy Community Hub, which houses Australia’s first Passive House-certified library and community building.
DesignInc is proud to announce that we have achieved dual Climate Active certification, which certifies both our Services and Organisation. Currently, DesignInc is the only architecture practice in Australia that holds Climate Active certification for Service.
The Benalla P-12 College STEAM Centre and Library represent a resetting of the life of this school for over 620 students, revitalising the campus and introducing STEAM-based education for Years 6-12.

With expertise across sectors including defence, health, education, community, workplace, residential, transport, aviation, and urban design, DesignInc will now combine its national experience with established local knowledge, having completed numerous projects across the Northern Territory over the last decade.
