UniSA’s School of Health Sciences required its new dedicated, Sports Science Centre and Exercise Physiology Clinic to act as a central hub for testing, research and consultation. The design needed to incorporate a dedicated exercise science research space which would enable the university to offer sports science research projects to Honours and PhD students, and the upgrade of infrastructure, equipment and computing facilities in the exercise physiology clinic.
DesignInc assisted key stakeholders and university professors in refining the project brief. The resulting design maximises the flexibility of the open plan exercising testing area, provides the technology and infrastructure for interactive learning, and includes a dynamic and engaging shopfront which gives the space its own unique identity.
The clinic is an interactive facility for research students, exercise physiologists and external groups and supports multi-functional learning across all areas.
