DesignInc was the co-designer of the 500 residential apartments situated above the new Chatswood Transport Interchange. The Development comprises a new public transport interchange incorporating elevated twin island platforms for both the existing North Shore line, and the new Chatswood to Epping line; a new rail concourse below the platforms connecting a new bus interchange via a glazed pedestrian street; 10,000m2 of high quality retail including a food court at podium level; 509 residential units in three towers of varying heights up to 40 storeys; and three levels of private basement car parking. A podium level resident's pool and amenities sits above a commercial food court. The Interchange construction was completed in 2009. The residential tower development was delayed by the Global Financial Crisis, sold on to developer Galileo Japan Trust, with interior design and documentation completed by Cox Richardson in 2014.
DesignInc’s involvement with CTI over the last
decade is as follows:
1999 involved with interchange masterplan.
2000 easy access concept design and track quadruplication, development opportunities.
2002 masterplan focusing on development sites, precursor to the Reference Design Scheme.
2004-5 DesignInc joined developer for transport, urban and retail masterplanning.
After a successful win of the tender, DesignInc & Cox joint ventured to deliver the design via PPP.
