MANUELLE GAUTRAND ARCHITECTURE (FRANCE) & DESIGNINC & LACOSTE+STEVENSON (AUSTRALIA)
Are the Winning Architecture group of the international competition for the construction of Parramatta Square’s Landmark civic and community building in Parramatta NSW Australia.
This international design award was launched by the Parramatta City Council. The short-listed firms were:
• MANUELLE GAUTRAND ARCHITECTURE (France), with DESIGNINC and LACOSTE+STEVENSON (Australia)
• JOHNSON PILTON WALKER
• FRANCIS-JONES MEREHEN THORP
• S.J.B. with LAHZNIMMO ARCHITECTS
The design has been endorsed by Parramatta City Council after the jury voted unanimously to award the international design competition our consortium.
In announcing its decision the jury said: “The winning scheme is an exemplary architectural masterpiece that delivers a 21st century solution within Parramatta City Council’s modern smart-city metropolis.”
The building will accommodate various spaces as a library, a Smart City Command Center, Community Meeting rooms, a community technology Hub, an Innovation space, a visitor experience center, Council chambers, Council customer services, Councilor Offices, and common facilities.
The upper levels of the southern facade will also be able to be used for projections of public art.
The building is expected to be delivered in 2019.
